Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 – PC, Mac, Linux
You might be asking why a twenty-year-old game is on the list, but this classic has been re-released and if you’ve never played it before then I’d recommend you do. I used to play this on the Amiga and it had a cult following. The magic of this game is its simplicity, with one button and a direction pad, you don’t have to learn button combinations to do tricks or learn how to perfect through balls, it’s total football based on simple passing. Possibly the best arcade football game ever, you can pick it up for under a fiver. It might be the best £5 you’ve ever spent.
